Hello There!

My name’s Phil. I’ve had a TON of blogs in the past but I REALLY want to do this one.

You see, I’ve been stricken with a nearly paralyzing case of wanderlust. I LOVE New Mexico and all the amazing scenery it has to offer.  Problem is, I haven’t had much of an opportunity to explore. Whether in a restrictive relationship, or due to financial constraints, I hardly ever find myself leaving Rio Rancho or the west side of Albuquerque.

In January 2019, I found myself newly single.  I had some financial commitments to attend to and now, a year later, I find myself in a position to be able to start seeing more of the state. 

I want to hike.  I want to camp.  I want to explore all of the culture and cuisine that this amazing state has to offer.  I plan on using resources on the New Mexico True website, use YouTube videos to see what I need to do the things I want to do, and hopefully find myself fulfilled at some point in the very near future.

One thing to keep in mind, I will be doing this on a somewhat shoestring budget.  I do still have lingering financial obligations that won’t allow me to get too far away, but I hope a day trip per weekend, or finding a new restaurant, or museum, or something, will be a most amazing start.

Follow me as I try to find a new part of myself, whether in the Jemez, the Sandias, somewhere in Southern New Mexico… and who knows, maybe I’ll break the state line at some point in the future.
